My research focuses on the impacts of environmental change on marine ecosystems, with a particular emphasis on coral communities. During my bachelor’s degree, I investigated shifts in species composition of coral and sponges in response to rising sea temperatures. Later, for my master’s, I assessed the growth and survival rates of coral colonies within reef rehabilitation projects in the western Atlantic and Caribbean through a case study and meta-analysis.

I have since contributed to coral conservation initiatives in the Philippines as a surveyor, educator, writer, and currently work on plastic pollution along the eastern Atlantic coast (Portugal), where I'm analysing its impact on coastal ecosystems while developing a tailored emergency response for beach clean-ups, particularly in the context of our increasingly severe seasonal storms.

In addition to fieldwork, I provide analytical and reporting support to marine NGOs, presenting data for stakeholders and policymakers to expand marine conservation efforts.
